I'm trying to work my way through every type and level of Kizer knives. Like many new enthusiasts, I have gone overboard in a very short time but with good reason. I am very impressed with the quality and value of each of the 11 Kizer knives so far from the little Banish to the titanium Hawk. The Varatas game console controller-inspired design is a welcome addition to the seasonal or themed part of my collection. The laser- etched game controller details on the Nitro-V blade are discrete and add to the fun side of knife collecting. The Varatas was also a test for my impression of a front flipper from Kizer. Methods of deployment can be very subjective so I won't say that my experience was negative but I can say that the detent is a little stiff right now. I wasn't won over with the front flipper yet but it hasn't turned me away either. The thumb hole works well while the reverse flick takes a bit of extra effort. Again, it's new and I'll keep working it. It is after all a great looking knife and fun to carry!
